Chieh Huang is the CEO and a Co-founder of Boxed, a warehouse-club delivery service that launched in 2013. Eight years later, the company delivers anywhere in the Continental USA, with revenue now in the hundreds of millions.
Prior to Boxed, Chieh earned his J.D. from Fordham University and his Bachelor of Economics degree from The Johns Hopkins University. After law school, he took a position as a corporate attorney at Proskauer where he quickly discovered that a career in law wasn’t for him. He promptly moved into his friend’s attic and helmed a mobile gaming company called Astro Ape which drew the attention of games giant, Zynga.
Prior to its eventual IPO, Zynga acquired Astro Ape in 2011 and installed Chieh as the director of their New York office where he led the fastest and most efficient game team within the company. In 2013, seeing an opportunity in mobile commerce, he started Boxed from his parents’ garage. Since then, the company has raised over $300 million dollars, and invested heavily into its technology. Boxed writes its own software, runs its own state of the art fulfillment centers and builds its own automation robotics in-house.
Chieh is an innovator, a serial entrepreneur, and a philanthropist. He personally pays for the college tuition of his full-time employees’ children, recognizing he wouldn’t be where he is today if not for the education he received. Boxed has also taken a stand against the “pink tax” by refusing to charge extra for products specifically marketed to women.
Huang’s personal honors include being named to Bloomberg Businessweek’s 50 people to watch, and to National Retail Federation’s list of People Shaping Retail’s Future. Huang was also chosen as one of Crain’s “40 Under 40” and for Goldman Sachs’ list of “100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs.” Finally, Entrepreneur Magazine included Chieh on their list of “The 50 Most Daring Entrepreneurs.”
Huang is a board member of the Museum of Chinese in America, as well as an advisory board member of McLaren Racing."

Jimmy and his wife, Cindi, have owned and operated 23 McDonald's restaurants in Austin, and other central Texas cities for the past 27 years. Prior to owning McDonald's franchises, Jimmy held the position of assistant vice president and dean of students at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, AR.
As a college administrator, Jimmy served the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) as the chairman of the board of directors and held an appointment by Gov. Bill Clinton to the Arkansas Governor's Advisory Council on Volunteerism.
During his Career with McDonald's, Jimmy has served as the chair, vice chair of the Asian McDonald's Operators Association (AMOA) and West Division President for AMOA. Jimmy has also served as the chair of McDonald's Asian Business Vision Team, president of Central Texas McDonald's Operator's Association, Chairman of McDonald's Houston Region Leadership Council, member of West Division Leadership Council, member of National Leadership Council, and chair of the McDonald's National Asian Consumer's Marketing Team.
Jimmy is currently serving as the Past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Asian/Pacific Island American Chamber for Commerce and Entrepreneurship, member of Board of Director for Asian/Pacific Island American Scholarship Fund, Advisory Board for the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce, and AAPI Business Finance Council. He is a tireless advocate for the growth and health of small businesses, as he personally knows the daily challenges of operating a small business.
As the Chair of National ACE, Jimmy has led to conduct a national survey, jointed by the US Black Chamber, the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce - How COVID affected their minority owned small business. Among its key findings, more than 84% of AAPI business owners say Covid-19 has had a negative effect on their business. Jimmy also led AANHPI small business roundtable discussion with leaders such as Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senator Ben Cardin, and WH Senior Advisor Cedric Richmond to help AANHPI to recover from the impact of the Pandemic. The discussion also provides a full understanding of the severe damage these acts of anti-Asian bias and hate have had on the business leaders and their employees.
In 2015, Jimmy was a US Delegate to APEC (Asian Pacific Economic Council) SME, Summit in Makati City Philippines.

A native of Fujian, China, Jin Chen moved to the US in 1991 and started his first job working at a restaurant in New Jersey. After working his way up from entry-level positions in the restaurant industry, he moved to Minnesota in 1996 and opened his first restaurant in Minneapolis in 1998. Over the next 9 years, he went on to open a total of 9 Chinese and Japanese restaurants and learned the ins and outs of the industry. While running his businesses, he became intimately familiar with what it takes to open a restaurant, including renovation and design, financing, construction codes, and business licenses. In 2008, he used that knowledge to start a commercial renovation and remodeling company specializing in restaurants, retail, and service locations. After 14 years in the business, he has counted approximately 300 Minnesota businesses as his clients. If you’ve been to a Chinese or Japanese restaurant in the greater Twin Cities area, there’s a good chance you’ve seen his work.
In 2021, Jin became one of the founding partners of Asia Mall, the first premier pan-Asian shopping center in the Twin Cities. Featuring Asian-themed architecture and décor, it will be home to over 20 food, retail, and service tenants providing a one-stop shopping and dining experience for all.
In addition to being a leader in the Minnesota AAPI business community, Jin is also the executive director of the Chinese American Chamber Of Commerce – MN, a nonprofit organization that provides training and resources to Chinese- and AAPI-owned small businesses.Executive Director, Chinese American Chamber of Commerce - MN

AAPI Economic Impact in Minnesota
Dr. Bruce Corrie is an economist whose life’s work focuses on creating pathways to empowerment and wealth building for people with little access to power and resources. He developed a comprehensive framework for economic empowerment called the Policy Mandala. He offered data to illustrate the powerful role of the ALANA (African Latino Asian and Native American) people in a $1.4 trillion ethnic economy in Minnesota.
This data was used by both ALANA people in changing unjust structures such as in the construction of new legislative districts in Minnesota as well as policy makers to change their perspectives on the community from deficits to assets (www.empoweringstrategies.org). With others in the community, he pioneered an economic development strategy rooted in the cultural assets of people, called, Cultural Destinations (www.culturaldestinations.org). His views have appeared in local, national, and international media and publications. As Professor of Economics at Concordia University he offered students a multidimensional framework to analyze economic issues and served as a evaluator and mentor to academic institutions in India, China, Mongolia, and the US. He loves to travel and has visited over 25 countries in six continents.

Young people are the future of this nation and our community. Liam founded NorthStar Health, a healthcare social enterprise startup, in 2020 to bring local aspiring young leaders to serve their communities while achieving their goals professionally and personally. He believes young professionals and leaders are often left out of the table when it comes to decision making and opportunities because they are often seen as undisciplined and inexperienced. Now of course, this only applies to certain individuals - case by case. Today in 2022, NorthStar Health consists of about 20 practitioners, 20 interpreters (care coordinators), 4-5 contracted licensed providers, and a small administrative team. They provide behavioral health services as well as community support services that often are not enough with the resources available already. They also have a food shelf, changing the way Food Shelves are traditionally to become more culturally competent and representative of the communities that live here in the Twin-Cities. Not only this, NorthStar Health's international foundation, NorthStar International Foundation, hopes to develop vibrant communities abroad by also empowering local leaders to serve. Today, NorthStar International Foundation is in Thailand and hoping to expand to other SE Asian countries and potentially, Africa. Liam believes if we can empower local, grassroots young leaders, we will not only be building a stronger community, but the future of our community, state, and nation. NorthStar Health is a startup, and there are lots of changes and ideas that will be needed and to come to grow NorthStar Health, but above all, Liam appreciates and want to recognize that NorthStar Health is not about him, but the many leaders who are in it today for the long rewarding journey ahead of them working as a team and professionals to make a difference here and abroad.
Prior to Founding NorthStar Health, Liam came from the private equity/investment industry. He spent a few years working at Joseon Capital Group and growing its intern-led investment group from a team of 4 to 150 interns. After leading the investment division, Liam went on to grow the management consulting division in the East and SE Asian emerging markets. Journey to Recovery: Asian American Restaurants Panel
In addition to being a leader in the Minnesota AAPI business community, Jin is also the executive director of the Chinese American Chamber Of Commerce – MN, a nonprofit organization that provides training and resources to Chinese- and AAPI-owned small businesses.
